The American Association of Orthodontists recommends kids have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. While many kids won’t need treatment right away, for others, early detection and intervention are critical for proper smile development. By working with natural growth instead of against it, Dr. White can prevent emerging issues from becoming full-blown problems, helping your child avoid the need for extensive treatment, extractions, or jaw surgery down the road.
Early intervention with Phase One treatment allows Dr. White to address issues during a critical window of growth and development. Functional appliances and/or limited braces can be used to guide dental and facial development. Phase One orthodontic treatment prevents more severe problems later and, sometimes, even eliminates the need for further treatment.
Phase Two orthodontic treatment begins once most of the permanent teeth are in. The goal of this phase is to align the teeth and jaws for ideal function, health, and aesthetics. Thanks to early intervention during Phase One orthodontics, Phase Two treatment often requires less time wearing braces or clear aligners.
Spark Aligners are a discreet way to get a smile you love without the brackets and wires of traditional braces. Dr. White designs a custom treatment plan on a 3D model of your mouth and a series of BPA-free plastic aligners are created. As you wear your clear aligners, your smile takes shape right before your eyes. No food restrictions. No irritation. No visible hardware. Just outstanding results and superior comfort.
Step 1: Consultation
At this visit, we’ll take diagnostic records, Dr. White will perform an exam and discuss your goals, and if Spark Aligners are right for you, we’ll review the treatment plan, cost, insurance, and payment options.
Step 2: Digital Scans and Smile Design
We’ll take quick, comfortable digital scans to create a 3D model of your mouth, which Dr. White will use to map out your treatment and show you a preview of your results.
Step 3: Custom Aligners
Your custom aligners, made by the Ormco lab based on Dr. White’s plan, will be worn 20–22 hours a day and changed every 1–2 weeks, depending on your treatment.
Step 4: Check-ups
You’ll come in every 8–12 weeks for a quick checkup so Dr. White can monitor your progress and keep your treatment on track.
Step 5: Your New Smile
After your final aligners, Dr. White will scan your teeth and give you custom retainers to keep your new smile looking great for life.
Today’s braces are nothing like the bulky metal contraptions from decades ago. With smaller brackets and thin, shape-memory wires, the appliances are more comfortable and discreet than ever. At PDS, Dr. David White uses advanced braces and precise digital treatment planning to efficiently and effectively correct issues like crowding, spacing, overjet teeth, crossbites, open bites, and underbites – all while delivering personalized care and beautiful results.
Step 1: Consultation
Your braces journey starts with a consultation, where we’ll take diagnostic records, Dr. White will review your goals and treatment options, and we’ll go over costs, insurance, and payment plans.
Step 2: Braces Placement
We offer same-day starts, so you can usually get your braces placed right after your consultation in a quick, comfortable, hour-long visit.
Step 3: Adjustments
You’ll come in for occasional checkups during your treatment. During these visits, Dr. White will monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments.
Step 4: Braces Removal
When it’s time to get your braces off, Dr. White will gently remove them, polish your teeth, and reveal your new smile—selfies encouraged!
Step 5: Retention Phase
To keep your smile in place, you’ll wear a custom retainer full-time for the first year, then switch to night-time wear to maintain your results.
