Modern Braces, Exceptional Results

Today’s braces are nothing like the bulky metal contraptions from decades ago. With smaller brackets and thin, shape-memory wires, the appliances are more comfortable and discreet than ever. At PDS, Dr. David White uses advanced braces and precise digital treatment planning to efficiently and effectively correct issues like crowding, spacing, overjet teeth, crossbites, open bites, and underbites – all while delivering personalized care and beautiful results.

Traditional Metal Braces

At PDS, we use American Orthodontics Empower® metal brackets for our traditional metal braces. The modern solution is more streamlined and comfortable than the brackets of the past. Younger patients tend to love metal braces because they can customize them with colorful elastics.

Aesthetic Gold Braces

Our American Orthodontics Iconix® aesthetic braces feature stainless steel brackets coated in light gold zirconia. The champagne color will never fade or peel. Not only are the braces comfortable and durable, but they blend with your smile for an understated but striking look.

Custom LightForce® Clear Braces

Dr. White offers custom LightForce braces that are designed for your smile and your smile only. The 3D-printed brackets conform to your teeth to give you outstanding results more comfortably and precisely. These clear ceramic braces are less noticeable than their metal counterparts, making them popular with adult and teenage patients.

Step 1

Consultation:

All of our Spring, TX braces patients start their journey with a consultation. During this visit, you’ll have an exam and we’ll take diagnostic records like x-rays. Dr. White will chat with you about your concerns and goals and walk you through his diagnosis. He’ll then discuss your braces options and what to expect during treatment. We’ll wrap up the appointment by going over the cost of braces, your insurance coverage, and our payment plans.

Step 2

Braces Placement :

We offer same-day starts! This means you can usually have your braces placed on the same day as your consultation if you’d like. Dr. White will bond the brackets to your teeth, thread archwires through the brackets, and secure your braces with elastics. This pain-free, needle-free process takes about an hour. Before you know it, your braces will be on, and you’ll be one step closer to a stellar smile.

Step 3

Adjustments:

You’ll come in for occasional checkups during your treatment. During these visits, Dr. White will monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments.

Step 4

Braces Removal:

When the big day arrives, Dr. White will carefully remove your brackets and wires. Don’t worry, getting your braces off is just as painless as getting them put on. After polishing your teeth, he’ll let you check out your beautiful new smile. Go ahead, take all of the selfies you want – you earned it!

Step 5

Retention Phase:

To maintain your newly aligned teeth, we’ll give you a custom-made retainer. Wearing your retainer is essential for ensuring your smile stays as perfect as the day your braces came off. You’ll wear your retainer full-time for the first year before transitioning to night-time use only.

Benefits
Healthier Teeth and Gums

Braces straighten the teeth and align the bite. This protects the health of your gums and makes your teeth easier to clean, reducing the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

Improved Confidence

Getting a beautifully aligned smile designed to complement your facial features is a surefire way to boost your self-esteem at any age.

Personalized Treatment

Dr. White will create a customized treatment plan that brings out the best in your smile and works for your lifestyle and needs.

FAQ

How long will I need to wear braces?

Treatment time varies depending on the severity of your case and your unique needs, but most patients wear braces for about 12–24 months.

Do braces hurt?

No. You shouldn’t experience any real braces pain. That said, when you first get your braces put on and, sometimes, following adjustments, your teeth will feel sensitive to biting pressure. The discomfort is mild and goes away within a few days. You can take an over-the-counter pain reliever (whatever you’d normally take for a headache) if needed. Sticking with soft foods and cold drinks will also help.

Am I too old for braces?

No! You’re never too old to get a smile you love. As long as your teeth and gums are healthy, Dr. White can shift them into place with braces at any age.

Are there foods to avoid with braces?

While you can still eat most of the foods you love with braces, you will need to avoid really hard, chewy, and sticky foods during your treatment. This includes things like nuts, taffy, caramel, jerky, well-done pizza crust, most chips, and gummy candy, because they can damage your braces.

How do I care for my braces?

Other than avoiding hard, sticky, and chewy food, you’ll need to:

  • Floss your teeth at least once a day using waxed dental floss and a floss threader, a product like SuperFloss, or orthodontic flossers.
  • Brush your teeth using a fluoride toothpaste in the morning, after meals and snacks, and before bed.
  • Follow instructions for wearing rubber bands if applicable.

How much do braces cost?

The cost of braces depends on factors including the complexity of your case and the duration of your treatment. At your consultation, we’ll provide you with a breakdown of the fees. To make braces affordable for our patients, we accept most insurance and offer flexible payment options.
