Dr. Ricks, DDS
Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist in Spring, TX
Dr. Ricks is a native of East Texas, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics from Stephen F. Austin in 2016. He then moved to UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry to complete his dental training. During his time there, he was deeply involved with the American Student Dental Association (ASDA), serving on the national Board of Trustees and representing students from Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. He was also recognized for his outstanding clinical skills, receiving the senior award for clinical excellence.
After dental school, Dr. Ricks completed a two-year pediatric dental residency at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California. His residency focused on providing specialized care for children with complex and special healthcare needs. With his personal experience as a patient with a cleft lip and palate, Dr. Ricks has a unique ability to connect with his young patients and their families. It was the compassion of his own care team that inspired him to become a dentist, and he is committed to providing that same level of empathy and understanding to every patient he treats.
While he enjoyed his time in San Diego, Dr. Ricks is thrilled to be back in his home state of Texas. In his free time, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking in National Parks, skiing, and relaxing near the water. He’s also a big reader, so feel free to share your favorite book recommendations with him. Dr. Ricks is excited to be in Houston and looks forward to meeting you and your family!
